Facilities and Infrastructure
Facility development and expansion is crucial to maintaining the viability of basketball’s future.
Basketball Victoria works extensively with all levels of government, basketball associations and clubs, other indoor state sporting organisations such as Netball Victoria and other advocacy groups and bodies to ensure Victorian indoor sporting requirements are always in discussion or development.
Basketball stadiums and facilities are important public assets and provide many economic, social and health benefits to the Victorian community.
Basketball Victoria support Active Victoria, the Victorian Government’s framework for sport and recreation. We recognise that Victoria’s population will almost double in the next four decades, which, when coupled with the increasing proportion of Victorians who regularly participate in sport or active recreation, will increase demand for infrastructure, programs and opportunities.
We have developed a facility planning guide to assist associations work through the planning stages for facility development. BV offer a facility advisory service and encourages all stakeholders to liaise directly with us throughout the planning and design process.
