The 2024 Under 20 State Teams Announced
Basketball Victoria would like to congratulate the athletes selected in the 2024 Victorian Under-20 State teams for the National Championships (NC), which will be held at Ballarat in Jan/ Feb 2024.
After three weeks of trials the challenging task of selecting the teams from an amazing crop of elite athletes has occurred with a Victorian men’s and women’s team, plus two development (“Navy”) teams and emergency athletes.
The 2024 tournament will also include the Ivor Burge Championships which are the National Basketball Championships for players with an Intellectual Disability. These teams will be selected and announced at a later date.
Grant Wallace, General Manager of High Performance for Basketball Victoria is looking forward to seeing how the emerging talent fares on the national stage.
”We are excited by the depth of talent that Victoria keeps producing. There were some tough decisions to make, as all the athletes worked hard during the trials and left it all out on the court during this preparation” Wallace said.
“We will play a competitive and exciting brand of basketball and look forward to continuing the successful traditions of Victorian State Teams”.
The National Championships are the pinnacle event for emerging athletes on a national stage as the teams compete to be crowned National Champion at the end of the tournament.
