Southern Cross ChallengeThe Southern Cross Challenge (SCC) is a tournament open to Under 14 and Under 15, male and female teams from around Australia. The tournament brings together the brightest talent to compete against each other for the coveted perpetual trophy. The 2023 tournament will see teams from, Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia, Western Australia and Queensland compete across four days, in Melbourne. The focus of the tournament is to give the athletes the opportunity to experience a competitive atmosphere that they can learn from and develop, with many previous athletes developing into elite athletes that have competed nationally and internationally. Our 2023 Champions will win one of the perpetual trophies named in honour of some of Victoria’s most successful exports, David Anderson, Matthew Dellavedova, Rachel Jarry and Jenna O’Hea. Throughout the tournament we will also have our wheelchair athletes battling it out on court. If you have never seen wheelchair basketball in action, take a minute to watch the teams on court at Fairhills. Basketball Victoria would like to thank and acknowledge the referees, officials and referee coaches that have ensured the Southern Cross Challenge is officiated in a professional and fair manner. |
