It’s about to get big, like real BIG.
The Big V 2023 season fixture is now live!
Commencing 18-19 March, the Big V 2023 season brings a talented 137 teams across our 12 divisions for six months of hard-fought competition.
The Big V has some special league rounds in 2023 with Pink Round (Round 7 on 6/7 May), Mental Health Round (Round 12 on 17/18 June) and First Nations Round (R14 on 1/2 July) all bringing the community together for some fantastic initiatives that every club gets behind and supports each one.
From Championship Women and Men through to our Youth League’s brightest, it looks to be a fantastic season for the Victorian community as Big V returns with plenty of exciting matchups to keep an eye on!

Both Championship divisions will have every game livestreamed again this season, plus single game grand finals of all divisions will be livestreamed as well.
Making its way into the Championship Men’s Conference are the Division 1 Champions Bellarine, plus Melbourne Uni and Keysborough who will be on the road in round 1 to take on the reigning champs – Wyndham.
Sherbrooke and Camberwell have made the step up to Championship Women in 2023 and they’re here to stay, it will also be a test for the newly promoted Suns as they take on the 2022 Grand Finalists Bulleen.
Division One Women have Altona promoted up to push the likes of Warrnambool, Mildura and Western Port. A tantalising match-up to start will be Bellarine on the Great Ocean Road down to Warrnambool to challenge the Mermaids.
In Division One Men we have the promotion of Pakenham and the Division 2 Champ – Gippsland United who are set for a big season. Round 1 has a local rivalry match up of Coburg vs Bulleen while Warrnambool hosts Country rival Shepparton.
There’s plenty of action to see throughout all grades of our competition with the new-look Wallan traveling to Melton in Division 2 Men and Mildura on a tough back to back on the road at Mornington and Altona to tip things off. Division 2 Women has RMIT hosting Wallan, Surfcoast heading north to Coburg, Blackburn and Gippsland United at Mullum Mullum stadium, plus the Breakers and Collingwood doing battle.
Our Victorian Youth Championship (VYC) conferences are also ready to roll with the best of Victoria’s elite youth talent set to take the conference by storm. Frankston has both men and women’s teams up after winning Youth League last year. Casey hosts Frankston in a double header for both women and men in Round 1 which should bring a cracker of a crowd.\
In our Youth League Divisions we have some eye-catching games in Round 1 with Youth League 1 Men 2022 Grand Finalists (and regular season undefeated) Camberwell vs Craigieburn and Sunbury vs McKinnon in Youth League 1 Women who are new to the division. In Youth League 2 we have Wangaratta North East Bushrangers doing the Peninsula double of Western Port and Southern Peninsula in the women’s division and Sunbury heading to Albury/Wodonga and then Wangaratta on the Sunday in the men’s.
Big V Manager Mark Jeffers said he’s excited to see a new look Big V and can’t wait to have a full season helping manage the best state league in the country.
