Country Competitions Officer
Are you passionate about basketball and have experience in league operations? Basketball Victoria has an exciting opportunity within our Leagues and Competitions team for a Country Competitions Officer. The purpose of the Country Competitions Officer is to lead the operations and administration requirements of the Country Basketball League (CBL) and Junior Country Championships (JCC). The position will assist in the delivery of other Basketball Victoria events including but not limited to, 3x3 and school competitions. The Country Competitions Officer role has hybrid flexibility and can be located either in regional Victoria or metro Melbourne.

The General Manager will have a unique opportunity to implement the club’s new 5-year Strategic Plan and make a mark on basketball across Victoria (and sport across Australia!). We currently operate with a small team of paid staff, and a passionate network of volunteers to deliver the day-to-day activities of the Association.
Hawthorn Magic is a thriving basketball association centred in the City of Boroondara in the inner eastern suburbs of Melbourne. Magic has undergone a significant restructure in the past 18 months and is about to enter a stage of steady growth with our entry into the EDJBA junior domestic competition and the continuation of our successful VJBL junior representative program and senior mid-week competition. POSITION AVAILABLE – GAME DAY COMMISSIONER
The Melbourne Boomers are looking for opportunity to appoint a Game Commissioner to our WNBL Game Day crew.
The role will report to Jack Riddock (Venue and Basketball Operations Manager). It is a volunteer role for 11 home games plus finals. See fixture at : https://wnbl.basketball/melbourne/fixture/
The commitment each game is 4 hours.
The role includes tasks such as:
• Welcome visiting team to stadium and answer any questions they may have about the court, run sheet etc
• Confirm that all players, referees, and technical officials have arrived for the game
• Check that the game day equipment is working. (ie scoreboard, shotclock, stats computers, printers, sirens etc)
• Check all basketballs and pump any balls that may be flat. Choose game ball and give to scorebench
• Check the brightness of the LED screens with production company
• Make sure that game clock and run sheet are correct and work with production company to make sure tip off occurs at right time
• Confirm that floor wipers know their game day role and when/where to clean sweat from court
• Be the contact point to the referees should they have any questions and/or concerns
• Blood rule admin, clean the floor should there be blood on the court
• Escort the referees if necessary
• Should SIA (asada) turn up for drug testing, be the contact point for the SIA officials and assist them with preparation of SIA room and access to the required players
This is a unique opportunity for a suitable individual- it is possible the role could be shared between two people, but a sole person is preferred.

Squad and Team Coaching Opportunities
Opportunities exist for experienced coaches and players with extensive playing backgrounds that share our vision and passion for club & player development under a unified system:
Squad Coaches – The lead coach of each age group. In addition to team coaching duties, squad coaches oversee the coaching and development of all players and coaches within their squad.
Team Coaches – Team coaches assist squad coaches with training, player development and manage teams competing in local competitions at Frankston & Chelsea basketball associations.
Positions are remunerated on honorarium basis, based on experience and qualifications. Programs, training sessions, and matches are scheduled during typical after-hours recreational times, specifically Monday to Friday from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm and Saturdays from 8:00am to 6:30pm.

BASKETBALL DIRECTOR OF COACHING – GIRLS/WOMEN
The Southern Basketball Association is currently seeking suitable candidates to fill the vacant position of Director of Coaching Girls/Women.
Reporting directly to the SBA CEO and working closely with the Boys/Men’s Director of Coaching, the role encompasses work across the Sabres senior programs, junior rep programs, SBA domestic work and SBA community work. The role also includes after hours work on weeknights and across weekends.
Extensive coaching experience and management experience is essential for the role, including the proven ability to successfully develop and implement basketball programs and drive the adoption of a style of play across the Sabres programs. You will have experience leading, developing and mentoring coaches, including building and maintaining effective relationships with them.

Director of Refereeing
Eltham Wildcats Basketball Club (EWBC) is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic candidate to undertake the role.
The mandatory requirements for the role include qualification at Grade 2 Referee-Coach or higher, holding a current Working With Children Check (or valid exemption) and the capacity to provide a sufficient commitment to EWBC.
Other qualities that will be assessed include contemporary officiating knowledge, teaching experience, planning skills, problem solving skills, interpersonal skills, and the capacity to achieve results through others.
The role is part time and designed to average around 6-8 hours a week of work. Salary will be negotiable.
