Basketball Victoria would like to congratulate the four Victorian referees selected to officiate at the Australian Under-16 Junior Championships.
Held in Perth this July, the Australian Junior Championships represents the pinnacle of development for our up-and-coming referees who get a chance to officiate in high-calibre tournaments.
It will be the first time since 2019 that Victorian referees and teams will participate at the Australian Under-16 Junior Championships following our absence due to interstate lockdown restrictions.
“It’s great to see Victorian officials heading back to the Australian Under-16 Junior Championships after a couple of interrupted years,” Basketball Victoria’s General Manager – Technical Officials Jo Chu said. “Opportunities like this are fantastic for developing referees to take their officiating up to new levels.
“It is an exciting week to be part of and I wish our referees the best of luck, whether they’re returning to the AJCs or making their debut at the Australian junior level.”
With two Country and two Metropolitan officials heading to Perth, it further highlights the referee pathway across Victoria and the opportunities available for all Victorian technical officials.
The championships run from 3-10 July at Warwick Stadium, Perth.
