Melbourne, VICTORIA – Basketball Victoria is proud to announce Belinda Snell, Nick Morris, Penny Taylor, David Andersen and Ryan Broekhoff as its 2026 Wall of Fame inductees, with the basketball community invited to celebrate their achievements at the Basketball Victoria Awards on Tuesday 17 November.
With the first Wall of Fame inductions in several years, this year’s awards will mark a significant moment in our sport’s history as five of Victoria’s finest players take their place among the greats.
Belinda Snell, Nick Morris and David Andersen will attend the celebrations at Melbourne’s RACV City Club, giving guests the opportunity to hear from them in person and share in the occasion as they receive one of Victorian basketball’s highest honours.
The Wall of Fame recognises an exceptional group of players whose achievements and contributions have helped shape Victorian basketball and taken them to the highest levels of the game. This year’s inductees have given fans unforgettable moments, represented their country with distinction and shown generations of young Victorians what is possible.

Belinda Snell helped deliver some of Australian basketball’s most celebrated moments. A three-time Olympic medallist and member of the Opals’ historic 2006 World Championship team, her career also included championship success in the WNBA and WNBL.
Nick Morris was part of the Australian Rollers team that made history at the Atlanta 1996 Paralympic Games, winning Australia’s first Paralympic wheelchair basketball gold medal. His induction recognises a special place in the story of Australian wheelchair basketball.
Penny Taylor became one of the most accomplished players of her generation. A three-time Olympian and two-time Olympic silver medallist, she was named Most Valuable Player when the Opals claimed their breakthrough World Championship gold in 2006.
David Andersen represented the Boomers at four Olympic Games and built an outstanding international career, including three EuroLeague championships, before helping Melbourne United to two NBL titles.
Ryan Broekhoff took his game from the Frankston Blues to the world stage, representing Australia at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games and playing in the NBA with the Dallas Mavericks. His journey is a proud reminder of where Victorian basketball can lead.
Basketball Victoria CEO Nick Honey said welcoming five new inductees would be a highlight of Victorian basketball’s night of nights.
“Wall of Fame induction is a very special honour, reserved for the best of the best. Belinda, Nick, Penny, David and Ryan have each earned their place through remarkable achievements and a lasting contribution to Victorian basketball,” Honey said.
“They have given our community so much to be proud of and inspired young players to dream about where basketball might take them.
“To welcome all five into the Wall of Fame in the same year is a momentous occasion. Having Belinda and Nick with us to share their stories will make it even more special, and we look forward to celebrating with the basketball community.”
Alongside the Wall of Fame inductions, the 2026 Basketball Victoria Awards will celebrate the people and achievements that make our game special, including Life Membership recognition for Mike Bainbridge and honours for outstanding service to basketball.
For the families, teammates, coaches, volunteers and supporters who have followed these journeys, this is an opportunity to be in the room as a new chapter of Victorian basketball history is celebrated.
Join us to applaud five of our greats, hear their stories and give them the recognition they deserve.
