Melbourne, VICTORIA - Ready to take the next step in your basketball journey?
The Basketball Victoria (Country) Phase 1 Program Trial Camps are now open for registration and provide aspiring athletes with an opportunity to enter Victoria's state pathway.
Designed exclusively for male athletes who are not currently part of the State Development Program (SDP), these camps are the first step towards potential selection into Basketball Victoria's development pathway. Inspired by the same pathway structure outlined in previous SDP Trial Camp promotions, Phase 1 serves as a key entry point for emerging country athletes.
What is the Phase 1 Program Trial Camp?
The Phase 1 Program Trial Camp introduces athletes to the Basketball Victoria style of play, expectations, and culture within a challenging and competitive environment. Throughout the camp, players will be assessed by Basketball Victoria coaches and talent identification staff, with selected athletes progressing to the Phase 2 Program Trials - the next step towards joining the Basketball Victoria pathway.
This is a valuable opportunity for athletes to test themselves, showcase their skills, and gain exposure to experienced coaching staff.
Camp Locations
Three trial camps will be held across regional Victoria:
- Churchill (East Region) – Saturday 8 August
- Shepparton (North Region) – Saturday 8 August
- Ballarat (West Region) – Sunday 9 August
Athletes should register for the location that best suits their region. Please note that athletes may attend one camp only.
Camp Times: 10:00am – 4:00pm
What to Bring
Athletes should bring:
- Reversible singlet
- Basketball
- Journal and pen
- Water bottle
Key Information
- Eligibility: Male athletes born in 2009, 2010 or 2011 who are not currently participating in the SDP.
- Cost: $60 per athlete.
- No additional cost if selected to attend the Phase 2 Program Trials.
- Progression from Phase 1 is determined through the selection process and does not guarantee entry into any Basketball Victoria program.
