Basketball Victoria is excited to announce the teams that have been selected to participate in the 2023 Under-16 and Under-18 Division 1 and 2 tournament to be held at Red Energy Arena Bendigo across 18-19 February 2023.
Junior Country Championships Manager Matt Royal, and the selection group had the difficult job of choosing the teams for the event. “We had to narrow down from the 72 nominated teams for our Division 1 and 2 event, to 64 spots available, it was a tough job for our selection group,” Royal said.
“The incredible amount of country tournament’s our associations have been able to host, this year, has been terrific. This is a great sign as we move away from the Covid interruptions of the previous two years, which had impacted so many tournaments. Our teams have now had multiple opportunities to build their evidence submissions to ensure their teams were considered.” said Royal.
Basketball Victoria is excited to hold this tournament, as it allows our country associations to showcase their representative teams and skills on the big stage. At the same event last year, it experienced over 12,000 views of the live streamed games, this is proof that it is growing year on year, and next year will be no exception!
