Basketball Victoria is pleased to announce Greg Jeffers’ appointment as our new General Manager – Leagues and Competitions.
After a rigorous selection process, Greg Jeffers has been appointed to the role to oversee Basketball Victoria’s Leagues and Competitions department, including operations for NBL1 South, Big V, CBL, VJBL as well as our tournaments and competitions. As part of his role, Greg will also sit on Basketball Victoria’s executive.
Greg Jeffers said joining Basketball Victoria as a General Manager was a great honour and one he was thrilled to commence.
“I’m excited to join Basketball Victoria and hit the ground running as its new General Manager – Leagues and Competitions,” Jeffers said. “Basketball Victoria has a number of incredible competitions for Victorians to play our sport from the grassroots to the elite level and I look forward to helping grow and develop this area of our business going forward.
“I want to personally thank Nick Honey and Basketball Victoria for this opportunity and especially thank Eltham Wildcats Basketball Club and the entire Wildcats community for all the support I’ve received throughout my time at the organisation.
Basketball Victoria CEO Nick Honey said Greg was a great appointment for Basketball Victoria given his extensive history and expertise within Victorian basketball at both the state and association level.
“Greg has been a fantastic contributor to Victorian basketball for a number of years – both in his time working at Basketball Victoria as well as most recently at Eltham Wildcats as its CEO for the past 12 years,” Honey said. “We’re excited to appoint someone of his calibre to manage our Leagues and Competitions department.
“His time at Eltham, highlighted by growing the association’s junior and senior ranks and helping to secure a number of large-scale community funding opportunities, has been exceptional and we’re excited to see Greg bring the same energy and insight to his role at Basketball Victoria.
“We look forward to seeing Greg join us at Basketball Victoria in the near future.”
