Bendigo, VICTORIA - As another memorable Foot Locker Under-16 National Championships draws to a close in Bendigo, Basketball Victoria would like to recognise and sincerely thank the dedicated team of Victorian referees, referee coaches, score table officials and statisticians who have generously given their time throughout the tournament.
While the action on court captures the attention of players, coaches and spectators, every game relies on the professionalism and commitment of the officials working behind the scenes. From managing the scoreboard and game clock, to recording statistics and ensuring each match runs smoothly, their contribution is essential to the success of the championships.
Across the past 10 days, Victoria's technical officials have demonstrated outstanding dedication, professionalism and passion for the game. Their willingness to volunteer their time, support young athletes and help deliver one of Australia's premier junior basketball events reflects the strength of the Victorian basketball community.
Basketball Victoria Technical Officials, Leagues and Competitions Manager Kash Gaitlely said the championships showcased not only the talent of Australia's emerging athletes, but also the commitment of the officials who make the competition possible.
"Our referees, referee coaches, scoretable officials and statisticians are an integral part of every game, and their work often goes unnoticed due to their exceptional performance" Gaitlely said.
"Over the past 10 days they've given their time, energy and expertise to ensure every game has been delivered to the highest standard. We’re incredibly grateful for their dedication, professionalism and passion for basketball, and we’re proud to have such an outstanding group representing Victoria.”
