Congratulations to the Australian Boomers and the many Victorians who helped secure their spot in the FIBA 2023 Basketball World Cup.
The Boomers had a resounding win over Kazakhstan 97-50 on the weekend with DJ Vasiljevic hitting 3/6 from deep for 13 points.
The Boomers were also due to travel to Iran for their final FIBA World Cup Qualifier on 15 November, however Basketball Australia conducted a thorough risk assessment in conjunction with relevant authorities and as a result will not be sending any teams into Iran at this time.
The FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 will be held in the Philippines, Indonesia and Japan from 25 August-10 September 2023.
