B-ALL-IN Continues to Connect Communities Across Victoria
Basketball Victoria's B-All-In program is continuing to create new opportunities for women and gender-diverse people to connect, be active and enjoy basketball in a welcoming and supportive environment.
Since launching in 2025, the program has expanded to 13 associations across Victoria, providing a flexible and non-competitive entry point for participants who are new to the sport, returning after time away, or simply looking for a fun and social way to get involved.
Delivered in eight-week blocks, B-All-In combines skill development, physical activity and social connection, creating an environment where participants can learn, build confidence and enjoy being part of a basketball community without the pressure of competition.
Since its introduction, the program has helped hundreds of participants across the state experience the benefits of basketball while building friendships, confidence and a sense of belonging both on and off the court.
Basketball Victoria Women and Girls Participation Manager Leah Swain said the continued growth of the program highlights the importance of creating welcoming and accessible opportunities for everyone to enjoy the game.
"B-All-In is about creating a space where women and gender-diverse people feel comfortable, supported and encouraged to participate in basketball regardless of their previous experience," Swain said.
"For some participants it's their first time picking up a basketball, while others are reconnecting with a sport they loved years ago. What makes the program so special is that it's about much more than basketball. It's about building confidence, creating friendships and fostering a sense of belonging within our basketball communities."
"The growth of B-All-In across Victoria shows there is a real appetite for participation opportunities that prioritise connection, wellbeing and enjoyment. We're incredibly proud to see more associations embracing the program and creating welcoming spaces where everyone can experience the benefits of basketball."
The program's success is perhaps best reflected in the experiences of the participants themselves, many of whom have discovered not only a love of basketball, but also new friendships and a stronger connection to their local community.
"The B-All-In program has helped me reconnect with my sense of self after having children. The supportive community, the social interaction, and the fitness component have been a real highlight. The skills I’ve developed have made a real difference as a first-time basketball participant and would also benefit anyone returning to the game after years away.” - Shelley Chand (Mornington B-All-In Participant)
Each session includes warm-ups and stretching, basketball skills and drills tailored to participant ability, and dedicated time for social connection and refreshments. Associations are encouraged to shape the program to suit the needs of their local community, helping create an experience that is both welcoming and sustainable.
Beyond the court, B-All-In is also helping strengthen basketball communities across Victoria. Associations have reported participants progressing into volunteer and coaching roles, while others have seen new domestic teams formed as a direct result of the friendships and confidence developed through the program.
Basketball Victoria supports associations delivering B-All-In through funding and equipment resources, helping remove barriers to participation and create lasting opportunities for community members to get involved in the sport.
Today, B-All-In programs are being delivered by:
