2024 Under 18 State Teams Announced
Basketball Victoria would like to congratulate the athletes selected in the 2024 Victorian Under-18 State teams for the National Championships (NC), who will be competing in Brisbane, QLD on April 7-14, 2024.
Grant Wallace - GM High Performance and Pathways, said the regular calendar of play and preparation plus recent stellar performances at the East Coast Challenge and Country Cup has determined a high calibre group of athletes to be selected from.
“Our biggest strength is our culture, and we have seen the success of our High-Performance Hubs as part of our State Development Program that has helped drive the standards and competitiveness to a new level. Our whole group is looking forward to the trip to Queensland in April.” Wallace said.
In 2023, our Victorian Under-18 Metro Men and Country Men put on an outstanding Grand Final performance all tournament Metro securing Gold!
Our Victorian Kevins Coombs Cup dominated and brought home gold after an amazing Grand Final matchup against the WA Black Ducks.
The Under-18 Metro and Country Women also put up a great performance all tournament, proving great determination to finish where they did on the national stage
The National Championships are the pinnacle event for emerging athletes on a national stage as the teams compete to be crowned National Champion at the end of the tournament.
