What an action-packed weekend of Youth League basketball we just had. Our Youth Qualification was epic to say the least. So many teams fought it out to earn their rightful spot in their division and in this article, we going to detail all the biggest movements in our six youth league divisions. We start with our VYCM:
VYCM – Ballarat, Waverley, Wyndham, Keysborough
Ballarat defeated Wyndham & Waverley defeated Hume City thus remaining in VYCM. Wyndham lost to Ballarat in the Qualifiers and defeated Geelong United in the Knockout. Keysborough defeated McKinnon in Eliminators then Hume City in the Knockouts.
VYCW – Nunawading, Knox, Bulleen, Eltham
Nunawading remains in VYCW after defeating Camberwell in the Qualifiers. Bulleen moved up into VYCW after defeating Knox in the Qualifiers. Knox remains in VYCW after losing to Bullen in Qualifiers then defeated Wyndham in the Knockouts. Eltham defeated Ballarat in Eliminators then Camberwell in the Knockouts to move up to VYCW.
YL1M – Collingwood, Coburg, Altona, Melbourne University, Hume City, Geelong United, McKinnon, Blackburn
Collingwood defeated Whittlesea in the Qualifiers to remain in Youth One. Coburg defeated Sunbury in the Qualifiers to remain in Youth One. Altona defeated Mornington in Eliminators and then Whittlesea in Knockouts to remain in Youth One. Melbourne University defeated Craigieburn in Eliminators then Sunbury in Knockouts to move up into Youth One. Hume City remains in Youth One after losing to Waverley in the Qualifiers then Keysborough in the Knockouts. Geelong United remain in Youth One after defeating Blackburn in Eliminators and then losing to Wyndham in the Knockouts. McKinnon lost to Keysborough in the Eliminators to move down to Youth One. Blackburn lost to Geelong United in the Eliminators to move down to Youth One.
YL1W – Camberwell, Hume City, Ballarat, Wyndham, Collingwood, Whittlesea, Geelong United, Albury Wodonga
Camberwell remains in Youth One after losing to Nunawading in the Qualifiers then Eltham in the Knockouts. Hume City move down to Youth One after losing to Wyndham in the Eliminators. Ballarat move down to Youth One after losing to Eltham in the Eliminators. Wyndham remains in Youth One after defeating Hume City in the Eliminators then to Knox in the Knockouts. Collingwood remains in Youth One after defeating Bellarine in the Qualifiers. Whittlesea move up into Youth One after defeating Geelong United in the Qualifiers. Geelong United remain in Youth One after losing to Whittlesea in the Qualifiers and then defeating Mornington in the Knockouts. Albury Wodonga move up into Youth One after defeating Warrandyte in the Eliminators and Bellarine in the Knockouts.
YL2M – Craigieburn, Mornington, Whittlesea, Sunbury
Craigieburn move down to Youth Two after losing to Melbourne University in the Eliminators. Mornington move down to Youth Two after losing to Altona in the Eliminators. Whittlesea remains in Youth Two after losing to Collingwood in the Qualifiers and Altona in the Knockouts. Sunbury remains in Youth Two after losing to Coburg in the Qualifiers and Melbourne University in the Knockouts.
YL2W – Bellarine, Mornington, Sunbury, Warrandyte
Bellarine remains in Youth Two after losing to Collingwood in the Qualifiers and Albury Wodonga in the Knockouts. Mornington remains in Youth Two after defeating Sunbury in the Eliminators and then losing to Geelong United in the Knockouts. Sunbury moves down to Youth Two after losing to Mornington in Eliminators. Warrandyte move down to Youth Two after losing to Albury Wodonga in Eliminators.
