Basketball Victoria has worked hard over the last six months to stabilise Basketball Hawthorn’s operations and to ensure current VJBL participants, parents, coaches, technical officials and senior domestic players were supported.
We are still working through the future of the association and to ensure debt reduction plans are met, with the major focus on what is best for basketball in the Boroondara region.
To give everyone involved in the Basketball Hawthorn VJBL program - including parents, participants and coaches - sufficient time to plan for the 2022/2023 season, Basketball Victoria has made the difficult decision to not enter teams from Basketball Hawthorn into the next VJBL season
Parents, participants and coaches will receive direct communication soon to confirm the rules for VJBL entry into other association teams for the 2022/2023 season.
Basketball Victoria continue to work on delivering a Boroondara Basketball Strategy for 2023, with further information to be announced soon.
