Victoria has two athletes named in the Australian Devils team. The Devils are the Under 25 Women's Wheelchair team and will be spearheaded by eight athletes who have previously featured as part of the Gliders senior women’s wheelchair team, including Tokyo Paralympian and Victorians Isabel Martin, with young gun Laura Davoli also named in the squad.
The 2023 IWBF Under 25 Women's Wheelchair World Championships is set to be the largest and will be returning to Thailand for the second consecutive time.
The Championship, which is the pinnacle competition for junior women’s wheelchair basketball, will take place in the city of Bangkok, Thailand between the 3 October – 9 October 2023 featuring 10 women’s teams from across the world.
Australia won the silver medal behind the USA at the last IWBF Under 25 World Championships in 2019. The World Championships format is ten teams, with the Devils drawn in a tough pool featuring reigning champions, the United States, along with strong contenders Great Britain, Spain, and China.
