Melbourne, VICTORIA – Basketball Victoria congratulates the athletes selected for the 2026/27 Metro Future Development Program (FDP), which will support young players born in 2014 and 2015 as they take the next step in their basketball journey.
From October 2026 through August 2027, athletes will develop their skills with support from the coaching team delivering Basketball Victoria’s Pathways High-Performance program, building on the foundations established at their clubs and associations.
Bringing together young players from across metropolitan Victoria, the FDP offers athletes the chance to challenge themselves, gain valuable insights and learn alongside other emerging players.
Basketball Victoria’s General Manager Pathways, Dom Linossier, said the program plays an important role in supporting the next generation of Victorian talent.
“The Metro Future Development Program is an integral part of our Basketball Victoria Pathways High-Performance Program. We are excited by the depth of talent and potential across Metro Victoria, and by the progression that these athletes have made through the work of their Associations. I know our High-Performance Coaching team is excited to get to work with the next generation of Metro Victorian hoopers!”
Thank you to all athletes who took part in the trials, and to the families, coaches and associations who continue to support their development.
Congratulations to everyone selected. We look forward to seeing you learn, grow and make the most of the opportunities ahead.
The Country Future Development Program will be selected and run following the Basketball Victoria U14 Skills Days in early 2027. Stay tuned for more information!
