For Leagues, Events and Statistics Administrator Matt Royal, the Junior Country Championships are an exciting event and one that’s dotted with famous names throughout its prestigious history.
“We’re excited to see the Junior Country Championships return in 2022 and having the Under-18 and Under-16 events back under the one roof,” Royal said. “This is an incredible tournament for Country associations to showcase their representative skills on the big stage as well as an amazing springboard for talented juniors to move into state representative and senior ranks.
“There have been many incredible Country stars make their mark on this tournament with the likes of Jaz Shelley, Dyson Daniels, Matthew Dellavedova, Jade Melbourne, Jack White and many more shining on this stage.
"We can't wait to get to Bendigo Stadium and see all the action unfold."
Basketball Victoria will enact COVID-Safe requirements for this event to ensure all participants, coaches, referees and families can enjoy a safe and healthy environment at Bendigo Stadium. Further information on these requirements will be announced closer to the event’s commencement to align with Victorian Government health guidelines.
