If you are a parent or a coach of an athlete that is interested in taking their game to the next level, our High Performance team, in conjunction with Core Advantage and Basketball Australia’s Pathways team have created two specifically designed information sessions that are free to attend.
You can register for either or both sessions through one of our High Performance Coaching Hubs across Victoria.
The Basketball Australia (B.A) Pathways sessions consist of:
- Academic eligibility
- How can you apply to college through athletic qualification
- What is Grade Point Average (GPA)
- Assistance with creating your athletic profile
- Assistance with video hosting and evaluation
Throughout the sessions the team from Basketball Australia will highlight the fundamentals of what to expect whilst going through the pathways of college basketball to ensure that you and your athlete are well informed and educated to maximise the opportunities that are available.
Core Advantage: Building Better Athletes- A coach’s guide to strength and conditioning
Durham McInnis is the founder and director of Core Advantage Athletic, has worked in elite sport for over 20 years and is our athletic development partner. McInnis has worked with a range of elite basketball teams including the WNBL and Australian teams, he also works with individual players including, Jock Landale, Rebecca Allen and Maddie Garrick.
The coaching workshop that McInnis has designed centres around the fundamentals of short- and long-term athletic development.
The workshop topics include:
- Warm up 2.0, the ultimate basketball warm- up
- The secret to develop elite basketball fitness
- How to teach your athletes how to run faster with less effort
- The best way to maximise recovery
- How to better teach athletic stances so your athletes are setup to win before they even move
