Geelong, Victoria - The Endeavour Cup is an all-abilities basketball tournament giving young athletes the chance to represent their specialist school, with winners advancing to the State Finals in December. Four regional tournaments are being held across Victoria, beginning with Geelong’s event on 11 September at Beyond Bank Stadium.
Six specialist schools from Lake Colac, Warrnambool, and the Geelong area competed in 16 teams across two divisions. Nelson Park claimed the Division One title, while Armstrong Creek secured Division Two.
The event was proudly supported by SEDA College students, who assisted with scoring and officiating, ensuring the day ran smoothly. The tournament showcased teamwork, sportsmanship, and enthusiasm, with schools praising the opportunity for students to connect and compete.
Nelson Park PE teacher, John Sly, reflected on the impact, “The staff who attended said it was absolutely incredible and such a great day for everyone involved… I’ve already had about 15 students come up to me asking about the next round.”
The Endeavour Foundation, in partnership with Basketball Victoria, supports the tournament as part of its mission to help people with disability unlock their full potential. For over 70 years, the organisation has empowered individuals to live with purpose, choice, and independence.
Upcoming tournaments include:
- Gippsland: 10 October
- Shepparton: 17 October
- Northern Region: 22 October
- State Championship: 3 December
The Endeavour Foundation Cup continues to provide a platform for all-abilities students to compete, connect, and celebrate basketball.
