29TH NOVEMBER 2024 UPDATE
Swaggy Jai Jalin Wimberly returns to Gippsland United after an All Star 5 caliber year in Division One Men. Averaging 26.23 PPG and leading his group to the Grand Final, Jalin returns with sights of taking out the Championship for Division One.
Ricardo Time is back in Championship Men in different colours signing with Hume City for 2025. Ricardo spent his first year in Big V with Melbourne University where he averaged 21.37 ppg whilst shooting 33.8% from the land of plenty. Time’s skill in clutch situations will give the poise and detail Hume City need.
The Craigieburn Eagles announced the resigning of Briana Grey for 2025. The All Star 5 and Craigieburn MVP returns with a winning mentality securing their way into Division One Women for the 2025 season. Playing 14 games in 2024, Briana averaged 19.86 PPG and 11.5RPG Double Double.
Collingwood All Stars have resigned Jacob Daniels to their Division Two Men after a 24.83 PPG 2024 season. Jacob has been an integral part of this Collingwood unit while being involved in the development of the Junior Program.
Warrandyte have strengthened their front court after signing Harry Love to their Division One Men for 2025. Love spent the 2024 year with Ringwood’s NBL1 South side learning and developing his game. Coming back to Big V, Harry Love will be an exciting piece for this venom group.
Mildura have made a big move for 2025 signing Sam Finley to their Men’s roster. A 6”1 point guard out of California, Finley spent some time with UC Riverside and Ole Miss in the NCAA before heading to Ireland where he most recently averaged 27 PPG, 5.8APG shooting 37.7% from deep.
Dylan Larkin returns to Pakenham in 2025 after several years in NBL1 South with Waverley. Dylan averaged 12 minutes a game in the 2024 season bringing a spark off the bench with his athleticism and IQ off the ball. Larkin is excited to return to the Warriors and bring the energy.
21ST NOVEMBER 2024 UPDATE
Championship Women Hume City will welcome Kenna Holt from the University of Nevada, a standout player at Bishop Manogue High in the USA. At 5’8, she is an elite hustle player who’s won four straight Sierra League titles and a 2017 Regional Championship. She was a two-time Sierra League Player of the Year and was named second-team all-state twice.
Bridgette Rettstatt will ‘storm’ into 2025 resigning with the Bellarine Storm after her debut season. A 2024 All Star Five inclusion, Rettstatt averaged 17.4PPG,13.1RPG and 52.1%FG.
Another one for Bellarine, Courtney Strait was a star on the court in the Championship Division, also an All Star Five inclusion for 2024. Strait averaged 16.2PPG, 2.8APG and 0.56BPG.
Craigieburn will move up to Division 1 Men in 2025 and have resigned their All Star 5 and Golden Hand’s Lewayne Grant. In 2024, Grant averaged 19.72PPG, 5.39APG and 7.56RPG. He has been an incredibly popular player amongst fans and instrumental in Craigieburn’s success.
Wallan will also welcome Rankia Guyton from Vancouver Island University to their Senior Women’s team. Guyton is a 5’6 point guard who played for CCAA in 2023 and in North Macedonia last year for KK MZT SKOPJE in their ‘First A League’.
Keysborough welcome the 2024 Division One Men Leading Rebounder Aaron Frost coming across from Chelsea. As one of the best rebounders in recent years for Big V, Aaron is ready to bring the energy at a Championship level.
A huge signing out of Hume City as they sign the 2024 Championship Men MVP Kavione Green after a year with the Bellarine Storm. Green led the league average in rebounds (12.82PG) whilst averaging 24PPG.
Warrandyte welcome Jackson Dean, the 6’4 Guard/Forward to the Venom across from Camberwell. The versatile athlete with a nonstop motor averaged 15.8PPG and 6.6RPG in 2024.
Division Two Men Wallan will welcome Jon Bailey, a 6’10 dominating Centre from Wisconsin Lutheran College and played a season with the Buffalo Extreme in the ABA 2023/24, shooting 51.5% from the field.
Pakenham has announced the massive signing of Steve Coffey from RMIT. The 2024 Grand Final MVP for D1M, All Star 5 in 2019, 2022, 2023 and 2024- and 2-time Golden Hands winner will bring true professionalism and experience to the Warriors.
Pakenham have also welcomed 6’8 forward Ned Carr from Dandenong’s NBL1 team. A physical presence in the paint, Ned averaged 7 minutes per game in the NBL1 South competition. Ned also dominated in their Youth team in the Victorian Youth Championship.
