We are excited to announce that team nominations are now open for the 2025 Junior Country Championships (JCC)!
Associations and clubs from across regional Victoria are invited to nominate their teams to compete in the state’s most exciting country tournaments. The JCCs has long been considered the toughest on court battles of country basketball and 2025 promises to be another exciting showcase of the best young talent from regional Victoria.
Spanning across four weekends, next year's championships will take place in Bendigo, Ballarat, Bacchus Marsh and Melton. Each venue will play host to intense competition as each team competes for the chance to be crowned Junior Country Champions in their age division.
JCC Championship Manager, Sarah Szczykulski, expressed her excitement: “The regional based associations are already getting competitive with scouting their toughest competition for next year’s tournaments. We cannot wait to see what teams will nominate in each division, with the continued growth of the JCCs, we are eager to see both new and returning teams compete for the 2025 titles.”
The 2024 Championships delivered unforgettable moments, including Corryong making its JCC debut in the girls’ Under 16 / 18 (Divisions 3, 4 and 5), Leongatha’s thrilling journey to the Under-18 boys’ Grand Final, and the Swan Hill Under-12 girls claiming the Division 1 title in a hard fought battle against Bacchus Marsh which gave them a golden ticket to the 2024 National Junior Classic.
For associations looking to participate in 2025, team nominations must be submitted by Sunday, 24th November 2024 via the Team Nomination Form.
Key Dates and Locations for the 2025 Junior Country Championships:
- Under 16 and Under 18 Division 1 and 2: Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th February 2025 – Bendigo
- Under 16 and Under 18 Division 3 and 4: Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th March 2025 – Bacchus Marsh & Melton
- Under 14: Saturday 5th, Sunday 6th and Monday 7th April 2025 – Ballarat
- Under 12: Friday 11th, Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th April 2025 – Bendigo
