A huge congratulations to our Victorian athletes and support staff who helped Australia dominate in the Virtus Oceania Asia Games 2022 (OA Games 2022), held last week in Brisbane and delivered by Sport Inclusion Australia.
Our Women's Australia A team defeated Australia B in the Gold Medal 3x3 game with Australia C defeating France for Bronze, while the Australian Men's team had a clean sweep against Japan to win Gold in 5x5.
The OA Games 2022 is an international multi-sport competition in the Oceania Asia region for elite athletes with an intellectual impairment.
The Women’s basketball played in the fast and physical format of 3×3 with Australia providing three teams from their current Pearls squad while the Men (Boomerangs) competed in classic 5x5.
This was the first time Virtus Regional Games was held for the Oceania Asia region, with hundreds of athletes and officials from Asia, the Pacific and New Zealand coming to Australia.
