Victoria, Melbourne - Basketball Victoria is excited to announce a new partnership with AUSA Hoops, an organisation that supports Australian athletes pursuing college basketball opportunities in the United States.
With the 2026 Foot Locker Under-20 and Ivor Burge National Championships tipping off this week in Ballarat, the timing of this announcement highlights Basketball Victoria’s continued focus on supporting athletes within its pathway programs. The partnership with AUSA Hoops will provide additional guidance and exposure opportunities for athletes and their families as they explore potential college pathways in the United States.
As an organisation specialising in creating opportunities for young Australian basketballers. AUSA Hoops has worked since 2013 with athletes and families to navigate the U.S. college system, offering structured recruitment support and access to competitive environments where college coaches scout and recruit players. The organisation has assisted more than 270 athletes to secure placements across NCAA, NAIA and junior college programs.
Nick Honey CEO, Basketball Victoria, said the partnership aligns with the organisation’s focus on providing clear and credible pathways for Victorian athletes. “This partnership with AUSA Hoops strengthens the support available to athletes and families considering the U.S. college pathway. It provides access to experienced guidance and structured opportunities within a complex recruitment landscape.”
Ed Summers, General Manager, AUSA Hoops said the collaboration would help improve access to information and opportunities for Victorian athletes, "We are excited to partner with Basketball Victoria to further support Victorian athletes who aspire to play college basketball in the United States. This partnership is about providing clear information, meaningful support and real opportunities for athletes and their families as they navigate the college pathway. We are proud to work alongside Basketball Victoria to help young players grow both on and off the court.”
Through the partnership, Basketball Victoria and AUSA Hoops will work together to enhance awareness, education and exposure opportunities for athletes pursuing U.S. college basketball options.
