The Country Basketball League (CBL) is back for the 2022/2023 season!
The official season schedule is live now ahead of the Round 1 tip-off on 1 October.
The league is set to grow again with three new associations joining CBL for the 2022/23 season. These associations are Pakenham, Melton and Albury – joining the ranks of our eight CBL conferences. Macedon Ranges will field a CBL Women’s team for the first time in association history!
A number of associations will return to CBL this season following COVID interruptions, Morwell, Southern Peninsula, Warragul, Shepparton, Wangaratta, Ararat and Millicent are set to compete again.

The 2022/23 CBL season will feature:
- 73 teams
- 39 associations
- 8 conferences
- 423 regular season games.
The Gippsland and North West conferences are fixtured for nine rounds with the conference final scheduled for Saturday 10 December. North East and South West conferences are fixtured for 16 rounds with conference finals scheduled for Saturday 11 February 2023.
CBL Manager Matt Royal is excited for the league to return to the court after a great but shortened season in 2021/22.
“We can’t wait to see CBL action back for the 22/23 season,” Royal said. “After the success of last year, the new league brand and expansion inside conferences, this season couldn’t come quicker.”
