Basketball Victoria Supporting Partner of the Australian School's Championships

Basketball Victoria is pleased to announce the Australian Schools Championships (ASCís) will be held in Melbourne for the next three years.

The ASCís are the largest event on the Australian Junior Championship calendar and will be run by Basketball Australia and supported by Basketball Victoria, in conjunction with Basketball Australia, at the State Basketball Centre, Knox Basketball Stadium, and Fairhills High School.

In the past, Victorianís such as Dante Exum and Kristi Harrower have competed at the ASCís. In addition to these high profile athletes, the likes of Najvada George, Jack White and Dejan Vasiljevic competed at last yearís Champs.

ďThe legacy of this competition is exceptional, with a number of Australiaís most decorated basketball players announcing themselves on a national level at this tournament. Iím looking forward to witnessing the next crop of young talent competing here at the home of basketball.Ē

In 2015, 122 teams representing 70+ schools across 14 divisions and over 1,500 athletes hit the court as Lake Ginninderra College (ACT) took out the Menís Championship Division and John Paul College (QLD) won the Womenís title.

The ASCís is open to all high schools in Australia and will be held from December 4-9, 2016.
